- Message....: .Four years ago, while visiting the Main Caves site in the Giant's Castle N.P., I stumbled onto a very interesting site close to the main caves which I believe to be previously unknown. The painting rest on the north-east facing shelter of a small boulder on the opposite side of the Bushman's river. The scene contains several figures engaged in a trance dance, some entopic forms, a "Moon Goddess" style figure, a strange therianthropic figure, four white giraffe, a warthog outlined in red, and the usual eland. When I discovered it, I was very short on time, and I was not able to document it properly. I am now very afraid that they have been destroyed in recent flooding or the recent snows. I am a long way away form the sght now, obviously, so I appeal to anyone who can put mind to rest to correspond, and if possible, to go to Giant's Castle to record the paintings properly, like I should have done then. In either case, I am very concerned about this site. Please correspond. I beg you.

- Message....: I am trying to get an original slide or print of the Bedolina petroglyph, the oldest known plan of an inhabited site, form Northern Italy, c.2000-1500 BC. I know that it was published in Imago Mundi 18 (1964), in an article called ‘the oldest known plan of an inhabited site dating from the Bronze Age’, by Walter Blumer. The picture was reprinted with permission of the editor of Imago Mundi Ltd. We need the copyright as soon as possible and an orignal print. lWe would be really glad of some help here. Can you help at all? Please reply.

If I remember correctly, the petrogylph was sold to me under the title of “living rocks”, or “animal rocks”, I’m not completely sure. Anyways it would mean a great deal to me if you could lead me in the right direction. This symbol means a lot to me and your web page is the closest I have come to finding out its true meaning. Thank you in advance, Deana.

- Message....: I have been researching south-central British Columbia pictographs in the Okanagan-Similkameen Valleys for several years. However, I am interested in any information which could be provided regarding the
recent (past four to five years) of modern petroglyphs being produced along the coast of the Pacific
Northwest. My wife and I noticed two such sites a few years ago carved onto boulders at Point Roberts
peninsula (U.S. territory southwest of Vancouver, B.C. - northern tip of Washington State).
These images were still fresh then ... downtrodden grass and rock chippings in evidence.

- Message....: i have an odd request. i have been searching for some time for a painting of a cave bison that i must have seen in a book sometime years ago. Western Europe, probably Spain or France. he is running, his hooves tucked under his body, his horns long and curving forward, his back arched and head down. it is not an outline; the painting has that airbrush quality you see in some of the horses at Lascaux. if you know of the location of a painting that might fit this description, could you tell me? i would very much like to find the image in a book or on the Web. perhaps what i am remembering is a modern reconstruction of the bison from Altamira that you can see at
http://cchp3.unican.es/CANTABRIA/bisonte.GIF
even so, i would especially like to track it down. the colors were very vivid. thank you very much. Chad

- Message....: I have visited Valcamonica Home Page and found the glyphs very similar to andean. Cup marks are astronomical observatories. They filled them with water and the stars on the sky reflected. longitudinal marks normally have some astronomical meaning. Normally there were at least two, one for getting the imagle and the other for by the use of strings and knots made maps and keep records, Spirals are very common and is a "form" that early man found easy in nature, at the same time is an archetypical form (Fibonacci progression). numbers nine and six originate from this archetype. The enormous geoglyphs of Nazca in Peru link the spirals with the tail of a monkey. Double spirals are easy, they are topological representations of the sphere. How you can represent an sphere with a line? Just peel an orange in an spiral form and you have the representation of
the sphere. Newgrange i.e. has three spirals two representing an sphere and one that coul be interpreted as the sun or moon or just the sky. I find all these very interesting, which confirm two things: 1) that worldwide the idea behind was the same (probably via collective unconcious-net) and 2) that they were really very very smart. Thanks.

- Message....: I am working in archetypical maths I have found in the copious Peruvian petrogliphs. I have found they knew how to square a circle 5,000 years ago. I am looking for what I call "Magic tables" which are squares with twi diagonals and different quantity of dots in each triangle. All figures are linked with drawings of serpents, birds and felines ( obviously being Peru, also with llamas). I saw in Venezuela very similar glyphs and I supose there are a lot in that Civilization of the Unconscious which was so creative and smart. Normally people think that squares, lines dots are "decorative" glyphs accompanying animal or man figures. But they are very abstract and sophisticated maths!. A capacity we have lost. I would like to know about similar glyphs, specifically the ones that may show geometrical and arithmetic possibilities, and , very important, which mytical animal have close. Many Thanks. I am very happy I have found you.
